For this project I used a variety of graphite pencils and charcoal. Throughout the course of the unit I greatly improved my use of line weight and my use of value. I learned many new techniques through warm ups such as using crosshatching, shadowing and blending. My observational drawings greatly improved as i gained more knowledge on how to do them. Instead of trying to capture the entire image from the start as i did in the beginning, i started off with basic shapes and slowly added detail. This allowed them to take on a life-like quality. My use of one point, two point, and three point perspective can be seen improving throughout the unit as we learned about vanishing points and which line goes towards which point. My use of shadow and light source is much more accurate towards the end of the unit because of my improvement with the use of value. This makes my art pieces look more realistic and three dimensional. We also learned how to blend colored pencils using burnishing, allowing us to get the right color that looks realistic. The pictures are in order from earliest at the bottom to latest at the top.
